The mission of FACE is to promote a high-quality performing arts education for all students in Fairfax County.

The goal of FACE is to promote high-quality music education for all students in Fairfax County Public Schools. FACE works with the FCPS School Board, performing arts teachers, and community members to promote the maintenance and growth of the performing arts in FCPS, including advocating for funds in the yearly budget, helping teachers gain access to high-quality training and support, and advocating for the importance of music education in the community.

FACE was organized in 1991 and is comprised of representatives from many Fairfax arts organizations and community advocates. In past years, FACE has participated in the following activities:

  • Provide professional learning opportunities for FCPS music teachers;

  • Handing out postcards, flyers and leaflets at music events;

  • Organize and assemble large groups of supporters to attend and speak at School Board and Board of Supervisor Hearings, Meetings, Town Hall Dialogs;

  • Email, fax, phone call and letter writing campaigns/blitzes;

  • Organize petitions.

FACE is partially funded by Arts Fairfax.
